Due to its architecture, the castle is not accessible by wheelchair

How much time should I plan to visit the site?
About 2 hours.
The indoor guided tour lasts 45 minutes. The schedule for guided tours depends on the visitor traffic each day.
You can enjoy the 25-hectare park (included in the ticket) before or after the tour.
It takes about 45 minutes to walk around the entire park.
Do we need to book a guided tour?
It is not necessary to book unless you are a group of 10 or more people.
Is the guided tour suitable for young children?
The 45-minute guided tour covers the life of François-René de Chateaubriand and is not specifically designed for younger children.

Are there guided tours in foreign languages?
The tours are conducted in French, but visitors are provided with pamphlets in foreign languages.
It is possible to arrange an English-language tour for a group upon reservation.
Is the castle accessible for people with disabilities?
The guided tour includes about a hundred steps, so unfortunately, it is not accessible for wheelchair users.

Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are allowed in the park, provided they are kept on a leash.
Small dogs that can be carried and guide dogs are allowed inside the castle.
Where can I park?
There is no dedicated parking for the castle.
There are spaces on Rue des Princes near the entrance or in the city center (less than 5 minutes on foot).
Can I come by train?
Combourg train station is 30 minutes on foot from the castle.
Is it possible to picnic in the park?
The park is closed between 12:30 and 2:00 p.m., and there are no facilities or shelters provided for picnics.
However, there is a dedicated picnic area 5 minutes on foot near the lake, at the bottom of the parking lot on Rue des Champs.
There are also picnic tables around the Maffins pond.
Where can I dine in Combourg?
As the castle is located in the town center, you can easily access many shops and restaurants (bakeries, crêperies, traditional cuisine, etc.) on foot.
Additionally, our tea room offers a wide selection of drinks and artisanal pastries.
